Working draft, pending review by Nigerian legal counsel

Cookie Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies: some are needed to make the Site work and keep it secure, and one set is used for privacy-protective analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser and the tools listed below. This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a site stores on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. They let a site remember your choices, keep you signed in, tell humans from bots, and measure how the site is used. Cookies can be set by us (“first party”) or by a provider we use (“third party”), and they last either for the browsing session or for a set period.

2. Cookies we use

Strictly necessary. These make the Site function and cannot be switched off through the Site.

Cloudflare TurnstileTells humans from bots on our contact, partner, careers, and support formsSession to 30 minutes

We also use your browser’s local storage to remember your preferred display currency. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are used and where visitors have problems. It sets the cookies below. We run it with Google’s advertising features and ad storage switched off, so it is not used for advertising or cross-site profiling.

_ga_<id>Keeps session state for the analytics propertyUp to 13 months

Payment providers. When you pay, Paystack or NOWPayments set their own cookies on their own checkout pages to process the transaction securely. Those are governed by their policies.

3. What we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social media tracking cookies, or data brokers. We do not sell data collected through cookies.

Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure site. For analytics cookies we rely on your consent or, where permitted, a legitimate interest in the limited, privacy-protective way we have configured them. We are working on an on-site cookie preference control. Until it is live, you can opt out using the browser and Google tools below, and doing so will not stop you from using the Site.

  • Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Site.
  • Google Analytics opt-out. Install Google’s browser add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to stop Analytics on every site.
  • Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Where your browser sends these signals, we treat them as an objection to analytics.

Legal reference. Nigerian data protection law (the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019) treats information from non-essential cookies as personal data and expects a valid lawful basis, with consent the usual basis for analytics and marketing cookies.

5. Changes to this policy

If we add, remove, or change a cookie, we will update this page and its “last updated” date.
